This article covers more than empathy and trust. It lays a basic, yet solid, foundation for healthy leadership. In government, we are bound by many laws, rules, and regulations that limit our interview panels and selection process in recruiting and promoting. Likewise, we are restricted and burdened in terminating toxic employees.
Therefore, it is incumbent upon us as today’s leaders to employ creativity and unique methods for leading the workforce in spite of the bureaucracy. That can start with empathy and trust.
